I spent yesterday doing on and off parcour. I'm not the most agile person ever, and most of what is done looks more scrambling up and down buildings, rather than the idealised flips and dives that activity brings to mind.
Parcour is amazing, not because it is a fun way to exercise or because it makes you look cool, but because it recontextualises the world you live in. Previously, the sidewalk was for walking and there was never any reason to look up. Now I know that you can see the stars where they were previously blocked out by streetlamps, a tall building is all it takes.
